For striaght-ahead hard rock, you just can't beat Shakra. Layer upon layer of crunchy, distorted guitars, booming bass, crashing drums and above it all, Fox's unmistakable raspy snarl. Their sound is heavy and dark, but still has a hint of that party rock sound. They could seemingly switch from power metal, to heavy metal, to glam rock in a way I can't imagine from any other band. Their songs are fun without being silly and interesting without being arrogant. And their latest cd, Infected, offers up their best group of songs yet. With 14 tracks, it would be natural to assume that there would be a lot of filler in here, but honestly almost every song can stand out on it's own. You could dance to it, or you could fight to it ... It's just a great record for everybody. Shakra is one of those rare bands that rock and metal fans of all types could agree on. And so I recommend this to evrybody. Get infected! --Scott
