I had written off Halford after the first Fight album, long before the Two fiasco, but when I heard he was coming home, even my jaded outlook was optimistic. Clearly one of the most dominant voices in metal despite his personal issues, Rob hasn’t lost a step in his ten-year detour from Judas Priest. His voice is as good as it ever was and he has surrounded himself with some great musicians. It also has the added attraction of his duet with fellow British metal singer, Bruce Dickinson. Some of the songs still have the cheesy lyrics that all Halford fans have learned to overlook, but aside from that, this is a terrific album. Let’s hope the second coming of the metal god is permanent. --Scott
