After leaving Europe at the height of their success, reportedly because he wanted to go in a heavier direction, I was excited about this one. He’s got some Swedish guy with a pretty good voice singing, but the songs are just okay and it’s still got too much keyboards in it for my taste. The highlight is his cover of Vinnie Vincent’s Back on the Streets. Not because it’s so great, (it’s not as good as the original) but just because it was cool that he covered it only a year after Vinnie released it. Norum really came into his own in 1990 when he played with Don Dokken and then two years later on his solo cd, Face the Truth. --Scott
