Upon first inspection, Extreme may have seemed like just another pretty okay hair metal. Then I actually started LISTENING to the themes in the lyrics. I was struck by how clever even the 'party and get laid' songs were. Then they had songs about vanity, children's games and even the Crucifixion. This band was always smarter than the average bear. --johnk5150
