Back with their third studio album in as many years, Emerald Rain, who has become known for their catchy riffs and choral harmonized vocals, stays true to their course with Perplexed to the Extreme. Honestly, these songs aren't as good as their last batch. They lack the energy, attitude and the more dynamic drumming of Kyle Lazenka that was so prevalent on their previous album. In spite of all of that though, this is still a really strong album from a really talented band. Their last album was a fantastic cd and truth be told, I didn't really expect them to be able to top it, so I wasn't shocked. It's a lighter album but still a solid effort from one of the best new bands around. --Scott

“There's nothin' great about a heartache. There's nothing that I wanna learn from all this pain. And I'd rather not feel love, than to have to feel this way; like I'm dying, you've all been lying, 'cause there's nothin' great about a heartache.”
