Harem Scarem is one of those bands that I heard ABOUT throughout the 90's, but never actually HEARD. My loss. In 1993, when most bands were changing their sound to try to fit in or just plain going underground, Harem Scarem was coming into their own. As the follow up to their self-titled debut, Mood Swings was to be the band's quintessential release and one of the best albums of the year. Sadly, to avoid being pigeon holed the band continued to defy critics and fans alike by refusing to stick to the tried and true formula. As a result, the band continued to evolve, never to return to this style. But as a landmark of metal in the 90's no collection is complete without this one. --Scott
