There comes a time when "heavier" just becomes too heavy. There is a line. Once you cross it, there is nothing left to hold on to; No melody, no rhythm, no substance. Pantera has crossed that line. It was bound to happen sooner or later. They specifically stated that their goal is to make each album heavier than the previous one and, to that end, they have succeeded. Congratulations. This is clearly their heaviest work, but also their weakest. Reduced to growling over noise void of any musical quality, Phil begins to sound remarkably similar to the Tasmanian Devil and Reinventing the Steel quickly becomes a parody of itself. --Scott
