The House of Blue Light
After their grand return with Perfect Strangers, relationships were becoming strained again between the members. They still managed to force out a really strong record. Songs like Call of the Wild, Mitzi Dupree and the scorching opener Bad Attitude are dripping with Purple-isms. Ritchie doesn't really kick ass, choosing to fall into the background. Gillan's lyrics are particularly tongue in cheek and his vocals never seem too strained. A solid 8.5 out of 10. johnk5150
