Poets & Madmen
This is the third great concept album by Paul O’Neill and Savatage. It tells the story of three teenagers that break into an abandoned mental institution and find the patient file of Kevin Carter, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer who was traumatized after documenting the famine in Africa. While in the institution, the teens also meet with more than they bargained for. The fact that they take the time to plot out these stories is cool. But to be able to tell that story through verse and then put it to music is really impressive. To point out that the music is great becomes redundant with Savatage, because even through constant line-up changes, they've always maintained that. --
