Roughhouse
The big label break for Pennsylvania boys Teeze. Unfortunately legal problems forced the band to change their name at the last minute, effectively crushing all of the momentum they had built. The absence of any real promotion from Columbia meant even some of their biggest fans didn’t realize this was actually Teeze. To compound things, Max Norman, normally a good producer, completely missed the mark. Their raw, sleazy sound was completely replaced by an over polished and completely homogenized sound that simply didn’t work for this band. Teeze was heavily dependent on attitude and style, and when you clean them up this much, the songs really just weren’t good enough to stand on their own. --
